Welcome! I’m Richie, an American expat living in Bangkok. After making the leap across the world, I decided to launch this blog — Bangkok Bytes — as a way to share my experiences, discoveries, and tips with others navigating (or dreaming about) life in Thailand.

I wanted a place to document my journey — the good, the chaotic, and everything in between!
There are a ton of “Thailand travel” blogs, but fewer that speak to life here as a tech expat.
I’ve found a lot of value in the tiny details — how to get mobile service, navigating the visa process, and the Thai phrases that actually help.
Writing also helps me reflect and connect with others on a similar path.
